Drywall Installer – JJ Gill Drywall Ltd.
Location: 9060 148 Street, Surrey, BC, V3R 3W6
Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent | On-site
Salary: $35.00 per hour
Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible

Position Summary:

JJ Gill Drywall Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced Drywall Installer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing drywall in both commercial and residential settings across various locations. This is a full-time, on-site position with a competitive hourly wage.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to walls and ceilings

  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists

  • Apply successive coats of compound, sand seams and joints, and smooth out excess compound

  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound

  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners

  • Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency

  • Install metal stud framing and furring for drywall or plaster walls and ceilings using hand and power tools

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications

  • May supervise a small team (3–4 workers)


Requirements:

  • Language: English

  • Education: Secondary school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years to less than 5 years of relevant experience

  • Work Setting: Commercial and Residential sites at various locations

  • Physical Requirements:

    • Capable of lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

    • Comfortable with bending, kneeling, crouching, and performing repetitive tasks

    • Physically demanding work environment
