Job Posting: Home Support Worker

Position: Family Caregiver (NOC 44101)

Location: Richmond Hill, Ontario, L4C 6S2

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Pay: $20 per hour

 

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Home Support Worker (NOC 44101) to provide personalized care and companionship for an elderly gentleman (born 1944) with age-related health conditions, including hypertension, prostate issues, and mild mobility challenges. If you are reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about dignified elder care, we encourage you to apply.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Assist with ambulation (walking support) and mobility due to age-related challenges.

·      Aid in bathing, dressing/undressing, and personal hygiene, including occasional diaper changes during outings.

·      Administer medications as prescribed for high blood pressure and prostate conditions, under general supervision.

·      Monitor health status and report changes to the family or healthcare provider.

·      Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance quality of life.

·      Ensure a safe home environment to prevent falls or injuries.

·      Plan and prepare balanced meals, adhering to dietary needs related to hypertension and prostate health.

·      Assist with feeding if required.

·      Perform routine tasks such as laundry, dishwashing, and maintaining a clean living space.

·      Accompany the client during outdoor activities/medical appointments, ensuring comfort and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Personal Support Worker Certificate or relevant education is preferred.
  • A caring and empathetic nature, with a genuine concern for the well-being of seniors.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with family members.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with family.
  • Prior experience in caregiving or a related field is beneficial but not required.
