Job Description

G. Divine Construction Corporation is seeking a skilled and dependable Tilesetter to join our growing construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tile installation work on residential, commercial, and industrial projects at various job sites throughout the Greater Vancouver area. This position requires practical, hands-on experience in surface preparation, tile installation, and finishing, with a strong emphasis on precision, durability, and high-quality workmanship in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be tiled

  • Mix and apply mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using hand tools

  • Set tiles in position and apply pressure to ensure proper adhesion

  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure even spacing and a professional finish

  • Cut and fit tiles around corners, pipes, fixtures, and other obstacles using hand and power cutting tools

  • Apply grout between tiles, clean excess grout, and ensure smooth finishes

  • Remove and replace cracked, broken, or damaged tiles

  • Install mosaic tiles for decorative wall, mural, and floor designs

  • Cut, polish, and install marble and granite surfaces

  • Mix, lay, and polish terrazzo surfaces

  • Install tile strips, edges, and trim pieces as required

Requirements

Education

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate Or equivalent work experience

Experience

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of relevant tilesetting experience

Language

  • English

Transportation

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • Own transportation and vehicle required

Physical & Technical Skills

  • Ability to handle heavy materials and tools

  • Frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling

  • Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail

  • Ability to distinguish between colours and patterns

  • Capable of managing a large workload under time constraints

Tools & Safety Equipment

  • Must have own tools

  • Required safety gear includes:

    • Steel-toed safety boots

    • Hard hat

    • Safety glasses or goggles
