Specific Skills:· Acknowledge and welcome customers upon arrival· Determine or confirm the pricing of goods, services, or admission, and calculate the total amount due using an electronic cash register, optical price scanner, or other point-of-sale equipment· Measure the weight of produce and bulk food items· Accept and process payments made by cash, cheque, credit card, or electronic debit methods· Assist in wrapping and placing the merchandise bought in bags· Offer relevant information and assistance to customers as required· Determine the total amount of payments collected during the shift and ensure consistency with total sales figures· Ensure compliance with age-restriction regulations by verifying customer identification before processing sales of lottery, alcohol, or tobacco items· Responsible for handling reservations and processing take-out orders · Assist in replenishing inventory and ensure the check-out counter area is kept clean and orderly.
